Thank you to everyone who joined us on Thursday night for our Annual Blue Ridge Hospice Fundraiser. We are happy to report that more than 135 butterflies were sold that night alone! You still have time to help this great cause. Fifty percent of all butterfly ornament sales throughout the holiday season goes to Blue Ridge Hospice. Taste of the Town Results

This year’s Taste of the Town event raised almost $112,000 to benefit The Free Medical Clinic of the Northern Shenandoah Valley. Ponte Vecchio Living is a proud supporter of the Clinic, which has been providing quality health care to uninsured residents in our community for 25 years.

US CPSC Recall of Gel Fuel

Ponte Vecchio Living has been informed by Napa Home & Garden that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) has issued a recall of all pourable gel fuels manufactured by Fuel Barons, Inc. and distributed by Napa Home & Garden.  This recall includes both the Regular Gel Fuel and the Citronella Gel Fuel distributed by Napa Home & Garden to numerous retailers.  Although gel burners and gel fuel come with multiple warnings not to pour fuel into a burning or hot cup, it is apparent that in some instances users are not heeding these warnings.

Paul Burrell visits Ponte Vecchio Living

Our good friend, Paul Burrell, dropped in on Ponte Vecchio Living for a visit. Paul is a designer for the Royal Manner Collection by Highland House (check it out via the link to Highland House on our Furniture page).

If you’re wondering where you’ve seen Paul before, he is the Royal Correspondent for FOX News including for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding. As a member of the British Royal Household for 21 years, Paul’s two sons grew up with Will and Harry. Paul was footman to Queen Elizabeth II and then joined Princess Diana as her butler and close confidant.

Tablescapes 101

All of us enjoy accessorizing – it’s the fun part of the decorating process – until you actually place all your carefully chosen doodads and realize … the room still doesn’t look polished and perfect. Follow a few simple guidelines and soon your rooms will look like you hired a professional.

As a designer, I love to accessorize, just like you do.  I’ll scour the showrooms and product lines of our vendors looking for the perfect touch to finish a room.  I’ll find ways to incorporate the owners’ favorite things into my plan.  You, too, can have that designer look with a little practice and help from me.
